Thieves target Fresno pet rescue stand during Big Hat Days

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A local dog rescue is missing a tent and a vinyl sign after it was stolen from the Big Hat Days grounds.

The Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno left the tent up overnight Saturday to be used the next day, when they showed up the next morning it was gone.

Since the group is a non-profit organization they say the theft is a big financial setback.

"We're ran based off of donations so all of our donations go towards our dogs," volunteer Nanie Gonzalez said. "So, when we have to turn around and use some donations to have to pay for other miscellaneous items that we did have, that's just a little less money we're spending on our dogs."
