Woman stabbed in Clovis

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman is in the hospital Thursday after a stabbing in Clovis.

Police responded to Shaw and Peach Avenues around 9 p.m. and found a woman had been stabbed in the back several times. Witnesses told officers the suspect ran into a nearby neighborhood and helped lead police right to him.

"A citizen called our dispatch center and told dispatch a black male matching suspect description was laying under truck in front yard officers found him under truck," Sgt. Jim Munro with the Clovis Police Department said. "Took him into custody without incident and the suspect was positively identified as the person who stabbed the female."

The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in an unknown condition but was able to tell officers she did not know the suspect.

They're still trying to find a motive for the attack.
