Fresno residents ring in Lao New Year

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's the year of the monkey and thousands of people are ringing in the Lao New Year this weekend.

The annual new year celebration took place at a temple in southwest Fresno Saturday morning and the party continues through Sunday night. This year, Laotian leaders from the area and abroad will participate in the event.

You will find cultural exhibits, traditional performances and even a New Year Princess Parade at the Lao Dhamma Sacca Temple.
