Two arrested mid-robbery by Fresno Police
Fresno Police arrested 34-year-old Paul Weatherson of Kerman and 45-year-old Kevin Downs of Fresno Friday at what they are calling a home invasion robbery, at a local hotel.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It happened this morning around five at the Summerfield Inn in north Fresno. Police responded after a person heard someone screaming in the room next to them. Officers say three people were staying in the room, when a woman stopped and pretended to borrow a cell phone.

"As he went out the front door, the two suspects stormed in with guns. They were trying to get money and jewelry. Apparently one of the victims inside purchased a bunch of jewelry and these suspects thought it was real jewelry, it was costume jewelry, but they did take money and other items at gunpoint," said Joe Gomez, Fresno Police Dept. Lt.

Police have identified the suspects as Paul Weatherson and Kevin Downs. One of the suspects had chest pains and was taken to the hospital. They'll face home invasion, weapons violations and false imprisonment. They are still searching for the female accomplice.
