FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Women gathered Sunday at Arte Americas in Downtown Fresno to be honored just for being moms.

The 18th annual Mother's Day Brunch was held out on the plaza, attendees got to enjoy music and food.

Organizers say it's their way of honoring the women in our lives who have nurtured, supported, and loved us unlike anyone else.

"In the Latino culture, moms are very important," honorary chair for Dia de Los Madres Celia Arroyo said. "So we have mothers, grandmothers, madrinas, everyone that's important in our lives that we want to honor on this very special day."

More people buy fresh flowers and plants for Mother's Day than any other holiday except Christmas and Hanukkah.
