Woman angry at Fresno storage facility after her unit was broken into 3 times in one month
Three burglaries in the same month at the same storage facility. The family hit by the thefts is fed up

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Three burglaries in the same month at the same storage facility. The family hit by the thefts is fed up. Telling Action News they are not only holding the criminals responsible but also the storage facility for their lax security.

Every time Lily Hovanesian's family has checked on unit C16 more things disappear from the Public Storage site.

"It's such a wreck, they damaged our property, they stepped on the mattresses, threw down the chairs we had."

Hovanesian rented out the unit about a month ago. In that short time, she said it's been the target of thieves three times and her anger is turning on those who run the Gates Avenue location.

"They should have more secured stuff like they say they do online, that's what we saw-- online."

When an Action News tried to speak with the manager, she asked if we were here about the recent break-ins. When we said yes, she told us to leave the property and call the district manager.

"I'm not saying they are entirely responsible, but they are partly responsible. They don't know that their cameras aren't working, that's a problem," said Hovanesian.

Action News covered one wave of the burglaries last Tuesday. Police weren't able to find surveillance video. Hovanesian said that's because there is only one camera on site and the district manager told her it doesn't record.

"Obviously, the second time that it happened, the cameras are still not working so that means during that period of time they didn't take the effort to fix the cameras like they said they would."

Hovanesian said she isn't asking for Public Storage to pay her for damages, she wants the facility to improve security so other customers don't suffer the same heartbreak.

"I want to know what happened to my stuff. I'm not just going to give up that easily."

We reached out to the district manager several times Tuesday and so far, no response back.
