Jackass Meadow Campground closed due to water overflow

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A campground in the Fresno County high country, east of China Peak ski resort, is closed.

The Jackass Meadow Campground was evacuated on Monday because of water overflow in the area. The area sits along the San Joaquin River near Florence Lake. Officials say people trying to reach the area could get their vehicles and trailers stuck.

The area is expected to be closed for several weeks.
