OAKHURST, Calif. (KFSN) -- A mountain fundraiser will send some Valley heroes on the trip of a lifetime.

Oakhurst dentist Michael Horasanian and his staff recently held a military appreciation barbecue at his office. Their home-cookin' helped raise more than $4,500 for the Central Valley Honor Flight.

Among those who attended was World War II Marine hero, and purple heart and silver star recipient, William Miller of Oakhurst-- who survived the Battle of Saipan. Mister Miller also flew on the first Central Valley Honor Flight in 2013.

The Honor Flight takes local veterans on an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. to see their war memorials and other sights.

The next Central Valley Honor Flight is scheduled for the end of June and two more flights are in the works for the fall.

However, donations are needed for the September and October Honor Flights.

If you would like to make a donation click here.

This is a chance to give these veterans one more tour with honor.
