FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Generous donors are answering the call to help send Valley veterans on their final mission.
This week Action News reported that the Central Valley Honor Flight board of directors may have to cancel the final two trips to Washington D.C. because of a lack of funding.
Our report featured D-Day veteran Robert Barney of Fresno making a plea for donations to the Honor Flight. Many of you responded with pledges and the Honor Flight scheduled for September is back on.
Organizers are optimistic the October trip will also happen.
The honor flight scheduled for the end of this month is fully funded and will take off on June 27th from Fresno.
For the past three years, the Central Valley Honor Flight has sent hundreds of Valley veterans on a free trip to Washington D.C. to visit their war memorials and other sites.
