FRESNO COUNTY (KFSN) -- According to Fresno County Superior Court, people are receiving calls from a person claiming to be a court employee to get sensitive information.

A court employee received a call on their cell phone from someone claiming to be a court employee. The caller identified themselves as "the clerk to the board" and instructed the employee to call an out of area phone number in another state to confirm information to avoid arrest from an alleged warrant.

The caller ID appeared to be from a court even though the call was fake.

The court said they do not call the public to obtain personal information-- such as social security numbers or financial information-- or to request payment.

If you receive a call from someone calling from the court do not give them any personal information. If you feel that the call is legitimate contact the court directly.
