Christian rapper motivates Merced students

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A motivational speaker and recording artist is inspiring local students through rap and his life.

Artist C-Flo pumped up at the crowd at Rivera Middle School Friday.

He spoke to students participating in the Merced City School District's Summer Academy for academic achievement.

He talked about his struggles with drugs and alcohol after his dad and mom both died, and he encouraged students to think about the consequences of their actions.

The Summer Academy began on June 13 and will continue through July 8 at the middle school, as well as Peterson and Reyes Elementary Schools for the younger students.
