FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) --The scorching weather continues to beat down on the valley and we're now in the third consecutive day of triple-digit heat.
Most people would rather be inside running the A/C all day, but that can get expensive. And for those brave enough to be out here, there are options.
On a day like this, it's rare to find people happy to be outside, but at Inspiration Park, there were plenty.
For Paul Hortez splashing around with his twin daughters is the best way to survive the heat and save a little money at the same time.
"It's cheap, close to the house keeps the kids busy and cool," he said. "You can't beat that at all."
Patrice Cook feels the same way, but this is far from what she had growing up.
"As a kid, we didn't have any place like this," Cook said. "We had sprinklers and a water hose when I was a kid."
At this point, on the third day of triple-digit heat kids don't have many options, at least the kind you can buy at a store.
We checked Target and the shelves were virtually empty of kiddie pools and Slip n' Slides.
"Not surprised, it's that time of the year everyone trying to keep cool," a Target employee said.
Those who were searching for a cool down without getting wet found relief at the Sierra Vista Mall.
People like Jyaire Umoja stopped here to take a break from a long ride home.
"I rode my bike here and I made it in, stayed in here like, wait it out," Umoja said.
We also found Doris Robinson who was walking laps around the mall which is set to 75 degrees.
"It's cooler, much cooler," she said.
She's in Clovis visiting her kids.
Doris didn't have any complaints about the weather because where's she's from, it is much hotter.
"It beats the Palm Springs area," she said.
