FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- New businesses are coming to an expanding section of northeast Fresno.

Crews are busy at work building one of Fresno's newest retail spaces at Hickory Hill and Champlain Avenues and one of the new tenants will be Vino Grille and Spirits.

"We're taking over 4,500 square feet here and then right out in the front here is going to be our patio so we should have 1,300 square feet of patio and it's got a fountain with it and really good parking with it in his location," owner of Vino Grille & Spirits Chuck Van Fleet said. "So, we're excited."

Van Fleet is relocating and expanding Vino and Friends to a new space that will offer more food options and drinks.

"We're also going in this location full liquor and we're going with high-end scotch and bourbon, whiskey, gin, vodka," he said.

"It's going to be an education in itself. I've been having so much fun learning all about it."

Vino will be hiring more than dozen people to work at the new location and they hope to open by November.

"Right next to the restaurant and retail space, George Brown Sports Club will be expanding with a super club, one of the biggest in the valley," Van Fleet said.

The nearly 48,000 square foot building will sit at the end of the property and have more than 400 parking spaces.

"We've been approved to open 24 hours so it's going to be huge in this neighborhood to be open 24 hours," GB3 manager Sean Clinton said. "We'll have a lot of different stuff that we don't have at any other club as far as equipment and functional training stuff."

Clinton says this new gym is in a prime location.

He says the club has experienced a lot of growth on the north side, outgrowing the Cedar and Nees location.

"We're still going to keep Cedar open, we're still going to have that going strong and then once this opens I think we may remodel cedar and do a different theme," he said.

The super club is expected to open in spring or summer 2017, making it the sixth facility for the George Brown Sports Club chain.
