FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- During the hottest days of the years so far, dozens of people in a Downtown Fresno apartment complex have been living without electricity and they're blaming the property owner.
PG&E says they had to shut off the power at Mary's Apartment near Divisadero Street and San Pablo Avenue.
It's due to safety because since April and a PG&E spokesman says people were illegally hooking up to electricity. PG&E says the company worked with the Fresno Code Enforcement Team to shut the power off on Thursday.
And tenants say they've been suffering in the heat.
"This is not PG&E's fault," tenant Tracy Armstrong. "This is negligence on the owner's part and this is what we get."
The landlord told Action News the problem has been fixed.
PG&E officials say a city inspector should be going to the apartment Monday and if the necessary safety repairs are made power will be turned back on.
