Authorities investigate homicide in Fresno County

Fresno County Sheriff's and the Huron Police Department are investigating a homicide that happened on South Lassen in Huron. (KFSN)

UPDATE The Fresno County Coroner's Office had identified the victim as David Lemus, 19, of Hanford.

Fresno County Sheriff's and the Huron Police Department are investigating a homicide that happened on South Lassen in Huron.

According to police, they received a call around midnight on Sunday about a physical disturbance. While driving to the call they received a second call about a man lying in a parking lot of a store across the street from the original call.

Police arrived and found the man with a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to a hospital in Coalinga where he was later pronounced dead.

Police requested that the Fresno County Sheriff's Homicide Unit take over the investigation.

The victim has not yet been identified.
