New Fresno restaurant offering unique foods using waffles
A unique restaurant, a first of it's kind in Fresno, is already attracting many Fresnans on it's opening day.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A unique restaurant, a first of it's kind in Fresno, is already attracting many Fresnans on it's opening day.

Griddle Me This is now open at the Villagio Shopping Center right across the street from River Park.

They take waffles and create sandwiches, burgers, even desserts.

Owner Tina Qi said they decided to open the store in Fresno because the waffle movement is taking off in Southern California.

"The waffle is the perfect vehicle for just about anything. You have burgers, it could be turkey sandwiches-- anything you can think of."

Qi said a popular menu item is the Monte Cristo, complete with turkey, prosciutto, raspberry jam, cheese and even arugula with an over easy egg.

They also have fried chicken, burgers, and beer to pair with the sweet waffles.
