FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Movements you should avoid depend on your goals, fitness level, and health history.
If your goal is to get in shape and lose some weight, avoid exercises that have a high risk of injury.
Exercises to avoid:
1. Behind the neck lateral pull down: This movement puts your shoulders in an unnatural position which can cause pain at the joint.
2. Upright Row: This exercise involves odd motions for all joints involved. You can always find other shoulder exercises with the same result, without the chance of injury.
3. Deadlift for Hamstrings: This exercise must be done with caution. If you have a weak or injured back, a deadlift is not the best exercise for your hamstrings. Remember, any exercise associated with an increased risk of injury that outweighs the potential benefit is not worth it.
