FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) --UPDATE: The Fresno County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 49-year-old Rafael Garcia of Fresno.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide halfway between Caruthers and Raisin City.
Alan Gilstrap was outside his home, on the phone with a friend when the silence was interrupted by sirens.
"Made the comment of how peaceful it is out here and not like the city, but about that time the sirens went off and I thought oh wow, got them out here too."
Around 9:30 Wednesday morning, fire and ambulance were first on scene of a property on Blythe Avenue. Sheriff's officials said it's an agricultural work camp, and first responders found a man dead outside one of the houses on the property.
"I don't know if he works here or if he lives here. I just know that he's got ties to where he does come and go from this property," said Tony Botti, Fresno County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Fresno County homicide detectives have talked to several people on site, and they're working to secure a search warrant to look for more evidence inside other buildings on the property.
"So we do have a lot of different structures, a lot of different people, so as you can imagine, just trying to make sense of who everybody is and what role they play on this property," said Botti.
Botti said they will look into any previous calls for service here to find out if there was any bad blood between anyone that could have lead to this.
"We're just fortunate to have it not happen out here very often. Of course we're not that highly populated, so you wouldn't expect it, but it can happen anywhere anytime," said Gilstrap.
There are no suspects or no arrests at this point, so anyone with information about this incident on Blythe Avenue in Fresno County is asked to call the Sheriff's Office.
