Pokemon Go craze takes over Tower District

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Pokemon Go craze is getting bigger Saturday as hundreds of people take over the Tower District for a Pokemon Go Pub Brawl.

Everywhere you looked, people were looking for one thing - Pokemon.

The Central Valley event advertised on Facebook interested more than 2,000 people and over 1,000 signed up to go.

Aaron Knott is among those who did but he's probably one of few who came prepared to catch them all.

"I got this backup battery pack cause it's going to be a long night and you got to recharge, he said. "Make sure I last all night."

The large crowds had Fresno Police on standby.

The department assigned several officers and contractors to businesses along Olive Avenue.

It also had 10 traffic officers out in full force, keeping an eye out on people walking in a zombie-like state.

And local businesses are cashing in on the craze too. In fact, Jennifer Sandoval, a bartender at the Detention, says when she heard about the event only one thing came to mind.

"I got to think of a cocktail shooter quick," she exclaimed.

And she did, creating their first ever Pikachu drink.
