Former Fresno pastor pleads guilty to stealing social security benefits
The Department of Justice says Alvin Dickson of Oakland pleaded guilty on Monday in Fresno to theft of government property.

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- The Department of Justice says Alvin Dickson of Oakland pleaded guilty on Monday in Fresno to theft of government property.

Between July 2005 and April 2013, court documents revealed that Dickson received Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits totaling about $113 thousand. During that same time, Dickson was working at the Pastor of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Fresno where he received a paycheck and rent-free parsonage from the church.

Dickson faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 24th.

The case was investigated by the Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General.
