Fresno Grizzlies star Alex Bregman to make MLB debut
The Astros top prospect will finally make his highly anticipated major league debut Monday night against the Yankees.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Astros top prospect will finally make his highly anticipated major league debut Monday night against the Yankees.

Bregman is a Shortstop by trade but saw plenty of Third Base and Left Field in the past week.

All part of Houston's plan to groom him well enough to make the transition to the big leagues.

Bregman played 18 games for the Grizzlies hitting .333 with 6 HR's and 15 RBI.

Just to give you an idea, Carlos Correa's stint with Fresno lasted 24 games.

"We feel like this is a good time to add him to a good team. We're rolling along pretty well. He doesn't have to come up here and be anything but himself and contribute at a different positions," said Houston skipper A.J. Hinch.

"We wanted a couple extra innings in left field. At Third Base. We accomplished this over the weekend. It's never going to be enough when you're trying to teach somebody a different position."

"But we feel like his time is now to come up and add whatever he can to a good clubhouse a good team and not have to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders as a young player."
