Thin Blue Line rally draws thousands to Woodward Park
Organizers think 3,000 people showed up to the rally in support of local law enforcement. The event was originally planned as a meeting on a street corner for just a few dozen people.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds of people are already looking forward to the next Thin Blue Line rally following a successful event at Woodward Park.

Organizers were anticipating 3,000 people to show up to the rally, which was originally planned as a meeting on a street corner.

But after a huge show of support and support from local sponsors, the Thin Blue Line Rally became a huge event Saturday.

Vendors and musicians even showed up to relieve the rally-goers in the heat.

"With all the events happening around the country and saw an open wound that law enforcement had to deal with all the time and I just wanted to do whatever we could do to show them that they're still loved and supported by their community," Eric Dougherty said.

The group says they're in the planning stages of their next event to support law enforcement.
