Car theft suspect barricades self inside Selma home
According to the sheriff's office, police pursued a suspect in a stolen car who then ditched it and ran inside a home near Nebraska Avenue and Skelton Street.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is working to arrest a car theft suspect who locked himself inside a Selma home with people inside, the department said.

According to the sheriff's office, police pursued a suspect in a stolen car who then ditched it and ran inside a home near Nebraska Avenue and Skelton Street.

Several people inside ran out but two other residents locked themselves inside a bedroom while authorities worked to arrest the suspect that authorities believed to be inside the home, an FCSO official said.

It's unknown if the suspect was armed.

Investigators were eventually able to rescue those two people and clear the whole house.

But they were not able to locate the suspect. They're now trying to figure out who the suspect is and sort out the details of the situation.
