FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds came out to an inaugural event to benefit the American Cancer Society in Clovis.

A Night at Chef's Table featured a five-course dinner and an auction with proceeds benefiting cancer research.

Organizers now hope to make it an annual event.

"At first we thought we might have 50 people and we now have almost 200 people tonight so we are just overcome with joy. We're so excited," organizer Michelle Blancas said.

Next year, organizers hope to have more than 500 people attend.

And a familiar face was in the crowd Sunday evening, Action News anchor Tony Cabrera served as emcee at the event.
