Authorities said the suspect assaulted the deputy and struggled with the deputy while trying to get his gun.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Another Tulare County sheriff's deputy is on administrative leave after the second officer-involved shooting in just two days.

A deputy was at the 20000 block of Road 254 in Strathmore just after 6 p.m. Sunday responding to a call about a restraining order violation. Authorities said the suspect assaulted the deputy and struggled with the deputy while trying to get his gun.

The deputy ended up shooting the suspect who was airlifted to an area hospital.

That man is now being treated for non-life threatening injuries and is in custody.

The Porterville Police Department is investigating the incident.

This comes just one day after another Tulare County Sheriff's deputy was assaulted by a man before shooting that suspect.
