FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno County family is shaken after waking up this morning to the sound of a window breaking and armed intruders shouting demands. Sheriff's detectives have caught three of the suspects, but at least two more are still on the loose.

The break-in happened outside Reedley on Englehart near South just before 4 a.m. Fresno County Sheriff's detectives got the call from one of the terrified victims. Even though she wasn't able to talk dispatchers were able to listen to the crime in progress.

"She dialed 911 on a cell phone and hid in a bathroom in a cabinet. She wasn't able to talk to our dispatcher but her phone was still open so dispatchers could hear the suspects yelling in the background," said Erich Garringer, Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators believe at least five armed gang members stormed into the home demanding money and jewelry. Deputies patrolling the area pulled up to find two cars leaving the home, but the CHP helicopter above made it hard to escape.

"They were in a pursuit that ended here at Reed and South. That subject leg-bailed and we believe we have him in custody. We also have two more apprehended at the scene," said Garringer.

Deputies aren't sure why the home was targeted for a second time this year. The victims are being cooperative but detectives are puzzled as to why the suspects would choose this residence. So far, investigators said there's no obvious reason.

The suspects almost got away with a flat-screen TV, but instead, it was booked as evidence when they dropped it in a field trying to get away. Three-- including a juvenile-- were arrested, but detectives believe possibly two more got away.
