Pedestrian killed on Highway 41 and Shaw Avenue

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The CHP says a 70-year-old man died after running out onto the northbound lanes of Highway 41 near Shaw Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

A 36-year-old man from Hanford driving a pickup truck hit the pedestrian. It's not clear why the man ran out onto the freeway.

The CHP shut down all lanes, except the slow lane, for two hours while they investigated. At one point, traffic was backup to Downtown Fresno.
