Park officials said they plan to add 400 acres of meadows and forest. This will be the largest expansion in nearly 70 years.

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK (KFSN) -- Yosemite National Park is expanding. Park officials said they plan to add 400 acres of meadows and forest. This will be the largest expansion in nearly 70 years.

A non-profit conservation group known as the Trust for Public Land bought the land from a private owner for more than $2-million. They then donated it to Yosemite.

A park superintendent said the land on the western boundary will be preserved as a habitat for protected wildlife.
