Good Sports - Fresno State Women's Golf Goes Global
Two Bulldogs are taking their game on the world stage

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State will be represented by two women's golfers at next week's World Amateur Team Championships in Mexico next week. Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir (Iceland) and Mimi Ho (Hong Kong) will represent their countries in the tournament.

"I've played for the national team for my country from 2008, so it's a huge honor to represent your country and especially on a big tournament like this," said Bjorgvinsdottir.

"It's a different dynamic because you are playing for a country and I'm looking forward to it and you are going to see some great players there and that's what it's all about," said Ho.

Gudrun and Mimi will miss the first Fresno State team event of the year to play in this prestigious world tournament, but the chance to represent both country and school is an honor for all involved.

"This is definitely showing our depth and talent and power on the collegiate level. We've got multiple athletes being represented, they will be caring our bags at the World Am, which quite significant for us," said Bulldogs head coach Emily Loftin.

The World Amateur Championships run from Wednesday, September 14 through Saturday, September 17th.
