82-year-old Fresno real estate agent is not slowing down with age

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Sue Liskey knows a thing or two about selling houses at 82-years-old. This year alone she's sold 11 houses, which is roughly $2-million in sales and it's only September.

"I always tell them it's not over until I hand you the keys," said Liskey.

For 37 years she's been a real estate agent helping Fresno families find places to make their own. In fact, she just helped a first time home buyer move into a place last week-- her favorite type of client.

"Oh, they thought it was a miracle, lots of hugs. I'm one of the lucky ones that I love what I do. I think we should all have a mission in life and this is sort of my mission."

Liskey's career has run the gamut, from owning her own company to now working for London Properties. But it was not until she moved into a retirement facility that she really started expanding her clientele. She now helps her neighbors sell their homes as they transition into the community.

"I've gone through that experience so it's easier for them. It's a hard thing giving up your house and moving into something smaller. You've got all that stuff to get rid of."

For Liskey the job she started at 45-years-old is not work-- it is her passion. So when her retired husband asks her when she is going to slow down she said he already knows the answer.

"I'm so blessed as far as health and energy that I'm not ready to give that up. As long as I'm healthy I'll be working."

The only thing Liskey will not do is go door to door and hold open houses. It is because after almost 40 years in the business she does not need to. Her clients stay with her for generations. She is serving families and their children's families for years to come.

"A lot of people think you get old and that's the end. You just get old. It's not the end."
