Jail shooting suspect Thong Vang pleads not guilty to attempted murder
Vang is accused of shooting two correctional officers at the Fresno County Jail in downtown Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- This is the second court appearance for 37-year-old Thong Vang. Vang now has a new attorney, since his previous public defender had a conflict of interest.

He appeared in court on Thursday wearing a yellow jumpsuit, which means the jail is housing him in isolation for his own safety.

If convicted, Vang faces life in prison. He's scheduled to return to court on October 19th.
