Trains disrupted after police respond to suspicious device in Elizabeth

Trains are disrupted after police responded to a suspicious device at a train station in Elizabeth.

After a man found a suspicious device he thought was a bomb, he alerted Elizabeth police who responded, and thought it could be a bomb.

The device is currently secured, and is being investigated.


Police called in the Union County bomb squad who sent in a drone to examine even further; the drone indicated it could be a live bomb.

FBI is currently on-site, and a decision will be made on how to remove it.

North East Corridor line train service is suspended between EWR and Elizabeth stations, due to police activity near Elizabeth.
