Trooper drives grieving man 100 miles to be with his family

DETROIT, MI -- A heartbroken brother was able to attend his sister's funeral because of the kindness of an Ohio trooper.

Early Sunday morning, Mark Ross found out his 15-year-old sister was killed in a car crash. He and a friend immediately started driving from Indiana to Michigan. They got pulled over in Ohio for speeding.

His friend had an outstanding warrant, and was taken into custody and the car was towed.

But the sergeant offered to drive mark the 100 miles to his home in Detroit.

Ross said, "As I was getting out of the car, he just reached over and was like, 'Mark? Can I pray for you?' 'Sure. Go ahead, I need it.' And he said one of the most meaningful heartfelt prayers and it really touched me."

The grieving family members were so thankful, they invited the trooper to attend the funeral.
