FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) --One person is dead and several others were injured Saturday night after being shot in Central Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.
Police said the first shooting happened near Grant and Effie Streets when they received calls of a shooting around 7:30 p.m. Officers found a man dead at the scene. Around 9 p.m., authorities said four people showed up to Community Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds after a second shooting happened near Clay and Fisher Streets.
Two of the victims are in critical condition and are in surgery, according to police.
Police said the two shootings are not related and are investigating what led up to each shooting.
Authorities have not released any suspect information.
