FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are trying to find out how a home in Northeast Fresno caught fire. Officials are calling the circumstances suspicious.

The fire sparked before 11 p.m. Tuesday near Birch and First. The roof was on fire and firefighters managed to stop the flames from spreading to other homes in the neighborhood.

No one was inside the home. Firefighters say the roof of the same home caught fire in the past.

"Two months ago they did have a fire here that was well involved, was through the roof just like this one was." said Captain Daniel Perkins, Fresno Fire Department. "We were able to control that fire, keep it from going to other residences. There was a good stop on that fire. We had an additional fire tonight. Again, unknown why the fire occurred."

An arson investigator is now looking into how the fire was started. No one was hurt.
