CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) --At the Clovis Recreational Center, for this weekend only, bargain shoppers are hunting for deals. The bi-annual Just Between Friends sale is back for fall and in full swing.
"It's like a huge community sale, you're not having to go from garage sale to garage sale or Facebook groups. You're actually able to find all the bargains here," said Mandi Milburn, Just Between Friends.
Milburn owns the local franchise of the consignment company. Twice a year they rent a space, get shoppers to the venue, and let consigners make money.
"We want to help families be able to get items for their families at way below retail and let other families be able to clear out their closets and cash in."
Inside, there's everything from strollers to baby equipment to clothes in literally every size imaginable.
"You know you don't want to keep buying new things, so, they're going to outgrow it. So I think it's a great way to recycle your stuff," said Xia Padilla, shopper.
And get this-- the average consigner makes over $350.
"We do have ones that make much more, especially if it's their first big haul. They're clearing out all their stuff that their children have outgrown, big baby equipment and all that. It really adds up," said Milburn.
Milburn operates the sales in Fresno and Visalia and in recent years expanded to Hanford with an annual winter sale.
Since 1997 the Just Between Friends company has grown to more than 150 territories across the country. Milburn said the sales do so well they get thousands of people through their venues over the course of one weekend.
If you missed Friday's sale don't worry, this sale is going on all weekend long at the Clovis Recreational Center and on Sunday some of the items are going to be 50-percent off.
