FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Well, what does a Mountain West Tournament title buy you in the offseason? Not a lot of respect if you're the Fresno State Bulldogs.
At the Mountain West Media Days in Las Vegas Wednesday-- the media picked the Bulldog men's team to finish fourth in the league this season. The dogs did lose three key seniors from last season's NCAA tournament squad that includes Marvell Harris, Cezar Guerrero, and Julien Lewis.
There are new Dogs on their way to bring some excitement to the red wave. We caught up with head coach Rodney Terry a few weeks ago to talk about the Mountain West and how it could return to a multi-bid conference once again.
"Well San Diego State was an NCAA tournament team a year ago, it's not our decision to put them in there. But they're an NCAA tournament team, you know? We're never a team, never a league I think, should ever be looked upon as a one-bid league. Our league's too good for that. We've got really good talent in this league. We've got great coaches in this league. Got difficult places to play in this league, so. We know as a league we've got to do better in non-conference. That's where a lot of it all starts with RPI and all of those types of things. But winning some difficult Top 50 road games will help our league as well." Terry said.
