CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- A local artist is making a name for herself in the Central Valley and soon you will see her work all over Clovis.

At the Foundry Collective in Clovis, there is a Central Valley state of mind. It's the bedrock of Karen Chisum's business.

"We're a small business. We understand and appreciate when we help other small businesses. We're paying basic bills. We're sending kids to dance class and supporting families."

Almost everything you find there are local products from local artists. Artists like Natasha Holland Hayes of Lemoore who makes maps in every place she lives.

"That all started because we move so much."

Hayes married into the Navy-- so Lemoore is likely a pit stop But her business is growing through online marketplace Etsy all thanks to clients like the Foundry.

"They wanted to create a hand drawn map of the town of Clovis, and so, it's been a really fun process just the last month and a half figuring out what landmarks they wanted to show and obviously their boutiques and shops noted as well."

This drawing is soon going to be in nine different locations in Old Town Clovis. Each of the businesses pitched in for a spot on the map that the will pass out for free starting in November.

"We have so many customers that come in and they want to spend some time in Old Town and walk around and grab a coffee, but they don't know where else to go. So rather than pointing here, go here, why not have Natasha make us a map," said Chisum.

From the Clovis Rodeo Grounds to the old town buildings, the architecture and design school graduate pays close attention to detail.

"One thing I always do is making sure everything has the correct shadow. Which is probably something no one will ever notice, but I want everything when it's on the map to look like the sun is going the same way," said Hayes.

Clovis might not be home for Hayes, but she's sure leaving a mark.
