Clovis Police make arrest in dog theft case
A Clovis Police officer tracked down Rhea the dog at the foreclosed house but the person living on the property refused to return Rhea to her owners.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It took a search warrant and a nearly violent confrontation to end a bizarre dog disappearance in Clovis Saturday.

Officers served the warrant at a home near Willow and Bullard Avenues. That's where they found a pup named Rhea who went missing in Downtown Clovis two weeks ago. A Clovis Police officer tracked down the dog at the foreclosed house but the person living on the property refused to return Rhea to her owners.

Police said he hid the dog inside the house and even threatened officers with a baseball bat. The suspect was taken into custody and Rhea was found inside the home.

She is now back with her owner.
