Educator of the Year awards held in Downtown Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A celebration for the top educators in Fresno County Thursday night in Downtown Fresno. The 2016 Educator of the Year awards took place at the Saroyan Theater.

The event is hosted by the Fresno County Office Of Education and the Educational Employees Credit Union.

Fresno High School chemistry teacher Jacqueline Ruiz won teacher of the year honors Thursday night. The Administrator of the Year is the Director of Supplemental Services at Clovis Unified Bob Kampf.

Edison High School Campus Assistant and coach Danny Alberty won employee of the year.

Action News anchor Graciela Moreno and Warren Armstrong served as masters of ceremonies.
