California Highway Patrol officers are searching for a hit and run driver suspected of killing a cyclist.

Investigators said the victim was hit Sunday night and was left for dead in the road. The body was found this morning on Howard, just north of Ashlan in Fresno County.

At this point, investigators are trying to track down the driver responsible and piece together what happened.

"It's unknown if they were in the roadway or on the shoulder. We don't see any tire tracks on the shoulder so presumably on the roadway," said Joseph Bianchi, CHP.

CHP officers said the cyclist had reflectors on the bike but no lights.

The victim has not been identified. If you have any information about this case, call the police.
