Storms can't put a damper on holiday spirits
Even through the rain, it was clear that wet and cold weather does not stop those who love to shop from going out to shopping malls.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Some Central Valley shoppers are not letting the rain get in the way of their holiday shopping.

When it rains, some people tend to stay inside and off the roads, but when you've got doorbuster deals there are a lot of folks who will brave the inclement weather just to take advantage of the sales. Even through the rain, it was clear that wet and cold weather does not stop those who love to shop from going out to shopping malls.

"I saw the clouds and was like, 'Yeah, it's going to rain,' but I didn't care," Alexandria Irby of Fresno said.

And she wasn't the only one, River Park's parking lot was packed Saturday. It's a sign that a lot of people are still trying to cash in on those after Thanksgiving sales.

"Victoria's Secret had some great deals that I had to get to," shopper Alyssa Gonzales said.

Gonzales said she purchased an umbrella at one of the stores just to make it through her shopping trip.

"It actually helped out a lot because it was still raining when I walked over to Macy's," she said. "I was determined to shop, so the rain wouldn't stop me."

One mom of two got a little creative. She brought her kids' wagon and used it to navigate from store to store during the winter storm.

"It seems to work pretty well, like I've had a lot of compliments and people saying that's a really good idea," said Michelle Chase of Fresno.

But while the rain did not seem to bother folks out buying a few holiday gifts, it did appear to take a toll on those at Bulldog Stadium. Some football fans left the game early to avoid getting drenched.
