FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- Two LAPD officers are running from Los Angeles to Sacramento to honor those police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Los Angeles Police Officers Joe Cirrito and Kristina Tudor were greeted by Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer as they ran through Downtown Fresno in front of City Hall.

"I'm just finding strength from everywhere," said Officer Joe Cirrito. "It's a lot of strength coming from the communities."

"Quite frankly, it's refreshing to see members of the Los Angeles Police Department trying to bring awareness to the fact that violence against officers in our nation needs to stop," said Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer. "The ambush against police officers is uncalled for. They're out here doing what they can to raise

awareness throughout our nation, and I applaud them"
