1 dead, 3 injured after quadruple shooting in Northeast Fresno
In the time it took officers to clear this mangled crash site one person had died and three people were hospitalized and Gus Hernandez had lost a childhood friend forever.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- In the time it took officers to clear this mangled crash site one person had died and three people were hospitalized and Gus Hernandez had lost a childhood friend forever.

"I went to the driver's side, recognized the face, saw, and knew it was him."

As friends of the victim recovered from the shock police pieced together fragments of the shooting turned fatal crash.

Police said two men walking fired several rounds towards this white car and that a fight may have taken place involving the victim at a pizza parlor down the road.

"I don't want to look in the direction because it's very tragic-- all I can think of when I think of him is good things," said Brittany Romena, victim's friend.

We do not know if any bullets actually hit the 19-year-old driver but he died before firefighters could rescue him with the jaws of life-- before Hernandez could even help.

"I knew him for years grew up with him, played football, basketball, wrestled, all of that and just to see him there gone-- yeah."

While police haven't released the driver's identity friends said his family lives on the block.

"Seen a lady jump of her car, screaming hysterically, saying my son my son," said Valvina McFatten, witness.

As the family grieves the loss police said they are intent on tracking down the killers.

Currently the only descriptions police have are two men, in their early 20s.
