Man killed in hit-and-run crash near Kerman

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities have arrested the suspect in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Fresno County.

California Highway Patrol officers say a 40-year-old man was walking across Highway 180 near Napa Avenue just before 11 p.m. Friday night. That's when he was hit by a Ford SUV.

The driver took off and the victim died at the scene. Investigators later found the 28-year-old suspect and took him into custody.

They say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
