FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An investigation is underway after two girls were hit by a car in the Porterville area on Friday night. The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Date Avenue near Park Street.
The California Highway Patrol says the two girls -- ages 11 and 14 -- suffered major injuries after the vehicle struck them while they were walking along a crosswalk. One girl was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, while the other was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia.
Officers say a 23-year-old man was driving the car. He is cooperating with investigators. There was a Domino's Pizza light on top of his vehicle, but the CHP couldn't say if he worked for the company.
