Small plane crashes near Firebaugh

FRESNO, Calif. -- An FAA investigation is now underway after a close call for a pilot in Fresno County.

The single engine plane is believed to have slid off the runway after trying to land near Firebaugh. It happened just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday near Washoe and Nees.

Investigators say there were five passengers. At least one of them was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
