Law enforcement in Madera County raising awareness for Special Olympics with annual torch run
Law enforcement agencies throughout Madera County are taking part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.

MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Law enforcement agencies throughout Madera County are taking part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run. The mission of the run is to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement.

This year's Opening Ceremonies will be hosted at Madera County Sheriff's Office at 6:30 AM Tuesday.

The over 24-mile route will be completed by runners representing various law enforcement agencies in Madera County.

Madera Police Department will commence the first leg of the run from Courthouse Park at 7:00 AM, and the final leg of the run will conclude at Veteran's Park in Chowchilla around 1:00 PM.

The Madera County Guardians of the Flame invite the citizens of Madera County to join them as they carry the Flame of Hope from Madera to Chowchilla.
