Gift ideas for Father's Day

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- This Father's Day you can give the gift of experience and head out to local ball parks.

"It's a great night out for dads to bring out their families. What's better than baseball and dad hanging out," said Derek Franks, Grizzlies General Manager.

The Fresno Grizzlies are hosting a Father's Day special Sunday with first pitch at 5:05 pm at Chukchansi Park.

"Everything's included for the $35, two tickets, two barbecues, and a great night at the ball park with dad," said Franks.

Over at total wine and more, the shelves are stocked and ready for dads who enjoy a specialty drink.

"Father's Day is a really big holiday for the adult beverage industry. We will sell a lot of Scotch Whiskey, Bourbon Whiskey, Tequila, Dad's Root Beer, a craft beer selection," said Chad Powell, Total Wine and More Manager.

The store also sells a variety of cigars out of the walk in humidor.

If you have a dad that loves the outdoors, give him some gear.

"Water bottles this time of year that are insulated and can keep my water cold for hours and hours and hours is nice, especially with all the heat coming up," said Scott Shively, Herb Bauer Sporting Goods.

Employees at Herb Bauer said bug repellent clothing is another unique item to get dad. Camping chairs and equipment can also bring together the whole family.

"Giving them a gift that says, 'hey, I want you to get out to the spots that you like to go and take me with you,' is a good thing too," said Shively.

For the technology minded dad, home automation is big like Google's Home and Amazon's Business Echo.

"You tell it, 'hey Google, I'm home,' and it knows to turn on the lights in the living room, to turn the TV on, to set up your sound bar. You can set it up all around the house," said Michael Leclair, Best Buy.

Also when dad can't be everywhere, security cameras and motion detector cameras can help him.

From technology to America's favorite pastime, getting dad the gift of quality time is another favorite present to many.
