2-year-old killed after being hit by car in Avenal

AVENAL, Calif. (KFSN) -- According to Avenal Police, a 2-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a car at an apartment complex in Avenal.

Police said the child was in the road of an apartment complex at Alpine and Fifth Avenue when the boy ran out in front of the car.

Officers said the driver had their view obstructed by a car parked in a fire lane and had just gone over a speed bump and was driving slow.

Authorities said the driver is being cooperative and they do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor.
